Baseball Recap: Squalicum Comes Up Short

Squalicum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sehome Mariners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mariners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Squalicum's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Sehome, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Squalicum will take on Ferndale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Sehome, they will host Oak Harbor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
