South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-23.

Sarah Elmore paced South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s offense, picking up 22 kills. Elmore got some help from Eliana Gutierrez and her 18 assists. Gutierrez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett]'s defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cheyenne Wells, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.
