Volleyball Recap: Lawrence Free State Victorious

Lawrence Free State won the last time they faced Schlagle and things went their way on Saturday too. The Firebirds came out on top against the Stallions by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lawrence Free State took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-15.

Anniston Clark paced Lawrence Free State's offense, picking up eight kills. Clark got some help from Tesssa Nover-Estes and her 20 assists. Nover-Estes also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kennedy Flachsbarth, each putting up three.

Lawrence Free State's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Schlagle, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Lawrence Free State wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Shawnee Mission South on the 14th. As for Schlagle, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Washington on the 14th.
