Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Canton

Canton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 47-35 victory over the Macomb Bombers. This was a revenge game for the Little Giants: when they faced off against the Bombers back in December of 2024, they had to take a 48-44 defeat.

Canton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allison Wheeler, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Wheeler continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Spencer, who posted seven points in addition to 14 boards and three blocks.

Canton was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 18-8 when they've passed the ball that well.

Canton's win bumped their record up to 19-14. As for Macomb, their loss dropped their record down to 21-10.

Canton has already played their next match, a 61-24 defeat against Peoria Notre Dame on the 20th. Macomb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
