Basketball Recap: Gouverneur Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Gouverneur unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 59-40 bruising from the Saranac Spartans on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

The win (which was Saranac's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Gouverneur will take on Heuvelton Central in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on December 20th at. As for Saranac, they will face off against Rice Memorial at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
