Football Game Preview: Bountiful Redhawks vs. West Panthers + Official Tickets

The Bountiful Redhawks are taking a road trip to challenge the West Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Bountiful is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Jordan, sneaking past 34-32. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.

Bountiful got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Siaki Fekitoa out in front who rushed for 130 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Fekitoa has become a key player for the Redhawks: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Hudson Malmrose was another key passer, throwing for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bountiful proved: they limited West Jordan to a paltry 1.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Dawson Allsop for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bountiful's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed four yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 6.23 on average over their last five games.

Bountiful's defensive line also made the game a nightmare for Ayden Dunn, racking up nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Allsop and Viliami Vunipola, who racked up five sacks between them.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for West against Northridge on Friday as the squad secured a 56-13 victory. Considering the Panthers have won ten matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Louie Hamilton and Kamden Lopati both made on the contest. Hamilton rushed for 180 yards and six scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry while Lopati rushed for 115 yards and one TD on only eight carries. What's more, Hamilton racked up seven passing yards, the most he's had since back in September. Derendrick Dixon did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.

West's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Bountiful, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
