Football Recap: Seneca's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

Seneca and A.C. Flora squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Seneca had to settle for second. They fell 34-21 to the Falcons. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Seneca lost, don't look at Amari Verner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards and one score. Verner is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 107 every time he's taken the field this season. Jack Webb also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Jalen Simmons, who rushed for 336 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry for A.C. Flora. Those 336 rushing yards gave Simmons a new career-high.

Seneca's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for A.C. Flora, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Seneca does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for A.C. Flora, they will take on South Pointe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Stallions have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
