Basketball Recap: Greenville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Greenville and Pinckneyville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Greenville had to settle for second. They lost 52-27 to the Pinckneyville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Panthers are ranked 160th).

Greenville has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season. Pinckneyville's victory bumped their record up to 21-10.

Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pinckneyville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-45 loss against Carlyle on the 17th.
