Softball Game Preview: Friends' Central vs. Shipley

Friends' Central will venture away from home to face off against Shipley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Friends' Central and Academy of the New Church meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Friends' Central put the hurt on Academy of the New Church with a sharp 15-4 victory. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for Friends' Central this season.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Shipley, as they earned their first away win of the season. They never let Friends Select get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. Shipley's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Friends' Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Shipley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Friends' Central took their victory against Shipley in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Friends' Central since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
