Volleyball Recap: Jackson Day's Undefeated Season over After Four Games + How To Watch

After flying high against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy on Tuesday, Jackson Day came back down to earth. The Mariners fell just short of the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Jackson Day took Piedmont Community Charter into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-17, 25-15, 21-25, 15-12.

Piedmont Community Charter can attribute much of their success to Shelby Ostrander, who had five digs and three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson Day fell to 3-1. As for Piedmont Community Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jackson Day will challenge rival NCSSM: Morganton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Piedmont Community Charter is set to face off against their familiar foe Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
