Lake Belton dropped to 4-5 on Friday, ending the team's eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 50-40 to the Georgetown Eagles. Despite the defeat, Lake Belton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zyien Dupree rushed for 167 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. Dupree really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Lake Belton also got help from Davion Peters, who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.

As for Georgetown, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.1 points.

Leading Georgetown to victory were Jett Walker and Kaleb McDougle. Walker rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while McDougle threw for 282 yards and three TDs while completing 87% of his passes. That's the most passing yards McDougle has posted since back in November of 2024. Georgetown's leading receiver Xavier Warren was McDougle's top target yet again, picking up 131 receiving yards and one score.

Lake Belton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-20 win against Chaparral on the 6th. As for Georgetown, they have also already played their next game, a 60-52 loss against Cedar Park on the 7th.
