Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Winfield walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Glencoe Yellowjackets with a sharp 14-2 victory on Friday. Considering the Pirates have won 17 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the 11th in a row for Winfield, bringing their record up to 28-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Glencoe, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.

Winfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
