Softball Recap: Lawndale Takes a Loss

If Lawndale was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Beverly Hills last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals lost 18-1 to the Santa Monica Vikings on Tuesday. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2019.

Margarita Rosales was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Lawndale's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Santa Monica, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

While Lawndale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
