Softball Preview: Parma Panthers vs. Melba Mustangs

Parma has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Melba Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Parma is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

Maya Jensen made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Jensen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 4-for-6.

In other batting news, Ari Godina was a standout: she scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Audney Bunker was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Melba fell victim to a rough 15-1 loss at the hands of Glenns Ferry on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Melba has scored all season.

Parma's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-4. As for Melba, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
