Softball Recap: Valley Takes Down Ranked Sioux City East

Valley faced Sioux City East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Black Raiders 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Addy Ballard was a standout: she fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Mohler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Sioux City East, with the defeat, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will host Ankeny at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sioux City East, they will face off against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
