Football Recap: Plum Takes a Loss

Plum lost against Pine-Richland back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Rams and fell 56-14. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Antonio Hanzlik threw for 48 yards and one touchdown. Niko Signor was his top target, picking up 92 receiving yards. On the ground, John Nonnenberg rushed for 33 yards.

MACLANE MILLER produced another solid effort rushing for 443 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries for Pine-Richland. Those 443 rushing yards gave MILLER a new career-high. AARON STRADER was another key player, throwing for 206 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Plum now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pine-Richland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Plum will welcome Penn-Trafford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine-Richland, they will head out to take on Fox Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will be up against the Foxes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
