            Basketball Recap: Norfolk Panthers vs. Fremont Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Norfolk was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They were five  points away from ending the streak, but they lost a  58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fremont Tigers. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing  53-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

 Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Gavin Jarecki, who  went 5 of 9  en route to 14  points and seven  rebounds. Those 14 points gave  Jarecki a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Drew Streich, who  posted 14  points and six  rebounds.
  Maurice Bryant continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fremont,  going 5 of 10  on his way to 18 points along with seven  assists and five  rebounds.  Aiden Vacha was another key player,  putting up seven points.
Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Fremont,  the  victory  got them back to even at 5-5.
 Norfolk will be playing in front of their home fans against Omaha Northwest  at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. As for Fremont, they will venture away from home to  square off against Grand Island  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Grand Island is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51  points per game  this season.
