Volleyball Recap: Nazareth Academy Takes a Loss

Nazareth Academy and Hinsdale Central squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Nazareth Academy had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roadrunners of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Jimmy Kleppetsch paced Nazareth Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Kleppetsch got some help from Hunter Creaney and his eight assists.

Leading Hinsdale Central to victory were Harry Hughes and Ken Reodica. Hughes had 24 assists and three digs, while Reodica had eight digs. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 14 games he's played.

Nazareth Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-26 record this season. As for Hinsdale Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-23 record this season.

Nazareth Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hinsdale Central, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against York on the 27th.
