Basketball Recap: Nashon Mann's Big Game Can't Quite Lead GVCS Broadfording over Eastern Tech

GVCS Broadfording played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Eastern Tech Mavericks, falling 85-60. The Lions were down 64-42 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nashon Mann, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cartwright, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Eastern Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jericho Wondeye out in front who went 8 of 14 on his way to 25 points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Foley, who went 8 of 20 en route to 21 points and eight steals.

This is the second loss in a row for GVCS Broadfording and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Eastern Tech, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. GVCS Broadfording will welcome Cumberland Valley Christian at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Carver A&T at 5:30 p.m.
