Baseball Recap: Tulpehocken Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pine Grove last Saturday, Tulpehocken came back down to earth. Tulpehocken fell 9-6 to the Wyomissing Spartans on Monday. The Trojans have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Aaron Wilson and Hank Gehman did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilson scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Gehman scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Logan Coderre was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Even though they lost, Tulpehocken was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tulpehocken's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Wyomissing, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Tulpehocken will be playing in front of their home fans against Schuylkill Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Tulpehocken's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Wyomissing, they will head out on the road to take on Hamburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
