Volleyball Recap: Melrose-Mindoro Has No Trouble Against Osseo-Fairchild

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Melrose-Mindoro had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Thunder last Saturday, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Melrose-Mindoro not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Osseo-Fairchild between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 25-20.

Bella Rozek paced Melrose-Mindoro's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rozek got some help from Opal Buchanan and her 13 assists. Rozek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Melrose-Mindoro pushed their record up to 11-16 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Osseo-Fairchild, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-22 record this season.

Melrose-Mindoro has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Blair-Taylor on the 23rd. Osseo-Fairchild does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
