Basketball Game Preview: Pe Ell Trojans vs. Waterville Shockers

The Pe Ell Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Waterville Shockers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Pe Ell sitting on 21 straight victories and Waterville on five.

Pe Ell can't be too worried about heading out to take on Waterville: they just beat Taholah at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Pe Ell came out on top against Taholah by a score of 50-38 on Saturday.

Pe Ell found their leader in sophomore Maisy King, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 17 rebounds. King is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Zock, who posted four points in addition to 16 rebounds and four blocks.

Pe Ell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 31 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Waterville beat Pateros 49-41 last Thursday.

Waterville pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. As for Pe Ell, their victory bumped their record up to 21-0.
