Garden City waltzed into their match on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Crestwood Chargers by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Garden City's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Crestwood are ranked 225th).

Emma Miles and Maya Edwards scored all three of Garden City's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Garden City pushed their record up to 11-1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Crestwood, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

Coming up, Garden City will venture away from home to take on Detroit Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Detroit Country Day's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Crestwood, they will challenge Divine Child at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
