Basketball Recap: H-L-V Comes Up Short

If H-L-V was riding high fresh off their 61-33 takedown of Colfax-Mingo last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The H-L-V Warriors had to suffer through a 68-39 loss at the hands of the Lynnville-Sully Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Hawks are ranked 99th).

H-L-V's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lynnville-Sully, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

H-L-V will challenge North Mahaska at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lynnville-Sully, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-60 win against Baxter on the 25th.
