They breezed by Indian Land at home to the tune of 77-21. South Pointe has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 21 points or more this season.
South Pointe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Victoria Morris led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals. Morris hasn't dropped below 15 points for 16 straight games. JaNyia Cunningham was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily Callahan, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Callahan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played.
South Pointe pushed their record up to 22-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Indian Land, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pointe will take on Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Pointe's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 14 matches. As for Indian Land, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Catawba Ridge at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Catawba Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
