League recap: Bunker paces Black River with two wins over past week

Top honors in the league this week go to Bunker, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. The Eagles beat Van Buren 11-3.

Bunker currently sits at the top of Black River with a mark of 3-0 overall and 3-0 in league play. The Bulldogs are 1.5 games back and in second place with a 1-1 league record.

Winona boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Austin Mays, who collected three hits in four at bats for a .750 average.



Van Buren's Austin Mays struck out eight the Wildcats hitters en route to a 13-5 victory on March 26. He gave up six hits and three runs over four innings of work.
