Basketball Recap: Jensen Beach Skates Past Vero Beach with Ease

Jensen Beach entered their tilt with Vero Beach on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Vero Beach Indians for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-35 win. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Jensen Beach's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lizzie Fitzwater, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Fitzwater is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Brinkley, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points in addition to seven steals and six boards.

Fitzwater wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Jensen Beach was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vero Beach only posted nine assists.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zy?Noria Ferguson, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 16 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyn Morris, who posted three points and ten rebounds.

Jensen Beach pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points per game. As for Vero Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jensen Beach will host Jupiter at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Jensen Beach's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Vero Beach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
