Martin proved they can win big last Friday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat South Grand Prairie by a goal, winning 2-1. Winning may never get old, but Martin sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Stella Ingram and Keely Yang scored both of Martin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Martin's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five games. As for South Grand Prairie, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Martin and South Grand Prairie should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Martin (ranked 163rd) will meet Sam Houston (ranked 496th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Martin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season. Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie will challenge Haltom at 8:00 p.m. on Friday up 397 places (130 vs. 527).
