Baseball Game Preview: Osseo-Fairchild Thunder vs. Augusta Beavers

The Osseo-Fairchild Thunder are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Augusta Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Osseo-Fairchild's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Melrose-Mindoro. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunder.

Meanwhile, Augusta hadn't done well against Independence/Gilmanton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Beavers had just enough and edged out the Indees 6-5.

Augusta's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Lee, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another was Tyler Lee, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Osseo-Fairchild took their victory against Augusta in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 10-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
