Softball Recap: Smith County Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Smith County finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 14-2 to the Watertown Purple Tigers. The Owls have struggled against the Purple Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meetings.

Having lost for the first time this season, Smith County fell to 3-1. As for Watertown, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smith County will take on York Institute at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Watertown, they will face off against Upperman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Watertown is facing Upperman at the right time seeing as Upperman is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
