Basketball Recap: Mulvane Comes Up Short

Mulvane lost against McPherson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mulvane Wildcats were dealt a 76-40 loss at the hands of the McPherson Bullpups. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Bullpups are ranked 22nd).

Mulvane's loss came despite strong showings from Canon Lazier and Braylon Barnes. Lazier posted 12 points, while Barnes put up seven points.

Mulvane dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for McPherson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Mulvane has already played their next game, a 72-64 loss against Circle on the 14th. As for McPherson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-26 win against Winfield on the 14th.
