Basketball Recap: Carver Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-13, which was the final score in the Carver Challengers's tilt against the South Shore International Tars on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Challengers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 641st, while the Tars are ranked 305th).

When it comes to explaining why Carver lost, don't look at Kennedy Wingfield. Despite the final result, she posted eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Carver and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for South Shore International, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Carver will head out on the road to challenge Christian Fenger Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Shore International, they will host Hubbard at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. South Shore International knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Hubbard likes a good challenge.
