While Loyola's victory against Mira Costa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Loyola Cubs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mira Costa Mustangs on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Loyola's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Mira Costa, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 16 games and leaves them with a 16-1 record.

Looking ahead, Loyola will host Santa Margarita at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mira Costa, they will venture away from home to challenge South at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
