Basketball Recap: College Prep & Leadership Academy Skates Past Winston-Salem Prep with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask College Prep & Leadership Academy). They breezed by the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix to the tune of 55-6 on Friday.

College Prep & Leadership Academy found their leader in freshman Alexis Holmes, who went 7 of 15 en route to 17 points and eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for Holmes. Another player making a difference was Melody Johnson, who posted nine points and five steals.

College Prep & Leadership Academy's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Winston-Salem Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cornerstone Charter the next time they take the court. College Prep & Leadership Academy will host Cornerstone Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Winston-Salem Prep will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
