Baseball Recap: Desert Edge Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Verrado, Desert Edge was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Paradise Valley Trojans 5-3. That's more bragging rights for the Scorpions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Desert Edge's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cayvon Clemons, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Clemons a new career-high in hits (two).

Desert Edge's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Paradise Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Desert Edge will have a chance to go back-to-back against Paradise Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
