While Westside put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Emerald. The Rams put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 16-0 win. Considering the Rams have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Westside got a massive performance out of Jordan Kirkus, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Kirkus a new career-high. Starlyn Clardy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Westside hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matchups.
Westside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Emerald, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Westside beat the Vikings by a score of 19-0 on Thursday.
