League recap: Kuhlmann races to league-leading run for Cactus Shadows

Cactus Shadows's Joe Kuhlmann recorded the longest rushing play in II Section VII this season in his game against Kellis last week. Kuhlmann scampered for 66 yards on the play and finished with 257 on the day as his team bested the Cougars.

Daniel Bridge-Gadd and Brenden Best provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Camelback. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 77 yards.

Kuhlmann was a beast in the backfield as Cactus Shadows defeated Kellis.

Tanner Buchert was a key player and the best on defense this week as Greg Davis' team bested Jason Golden's team. The 5-foot-9 senior grabbed 3.0 sacks.

Israel Simpson was the best wideout in the league this week as Chaparral defeated Saguaro. Simpson racked up 5 receptions for 100 yards. Trevor Wood helped Chaparral's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 94 yards.

Kuhlmann was the best running back in II Section VII this week. Antonio Marchica also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.

Kuhlmann was a passing and rushing force as the Falcons topped the Cougars.

Bridge-Gadd threw for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Bridge-Gadd put up the best numbers in passing as Paradise Valley beat the Spartans. Bridge-Gadd's favorite target this week was Best, who caught 4 passes for 95 yards.

The Firebirds' Sean Paul Brophy and Simpson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brophy has thrown for 252 yards this season, while Simpson, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 5 catches for 100 yards. Cactus Shadows' Kuhlmann leads the league in rushing yards with 257.

Arcadia took down Copper Canyon 57-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Peter Campbell threw for 116 yards in the win.
