Maize South had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Ottawa Cyclones. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mavericks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Maize South easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18.

Maize South's win bumped their record up to 26-3. As for Ottawa, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Maize South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Tonganoxie on the 4th. As for Ottawa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Bishop Miege on the 4th.
