White Oak hasn't had much luck against Dixon recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will welcome the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. White Oak has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
White Oak came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against West Carteret, falling 11-1.
White Oak saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Brandt, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dixon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Havelock by a score of 6-1 on Monday.
Seth Vincent was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dixon is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Vincent was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Chris Tesgle was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Dixon is undefeated when Tesgle posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Lincoln Everynham also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Dixon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for White Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
White Oak might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Dixon in their previous matchup on April 4th. Will the Vikings have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
