Softball Recap: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Lincoln Lions
Mt. Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 20-1 to the Lincoln Lions. Mt. Hope was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lincoln apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Mt. Hope saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elsa White, who went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
On Lincoln's side, Anna Danis tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Danis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Caroline Ricci was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariana Xavier, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.
Mt. Hope's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
