Baseball Recap: Lawson Starts Season with Win on the Road

Lawson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats by a score of 10-5 on Saturday.

Luke Adams and C.J. Thornton did most of the damage at the plate: Adams scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Thornton went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most runs Adams has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elliot Swihart, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Battle Ground Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lawson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Battle Ground Academy: the pair will be back at it again later today.
