Recap: Poplarville Hornets vs. East Central Hornets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jefferson Davis County, the Poplarville Hornets were happy to have found some success on Monday. They came out on top against East Central by a score of 41-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poplarville also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2020.
Poplarville can attribute much of their success to Aleah Bester, who scored 16 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bester has scored at least 25% of Poplarville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tameah Bester, who scored 9 points.
Poplarville's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for East Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poplarville is on the road again on Tuesday and play against George County. As for East Central, they will challenge North Forrest on Tuesday. North Forrest is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
