After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eden, Tonawanda was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kennedy Bears a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Timberwolves have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Samantha Heim made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Heim was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Tatum Sprague was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emma Genovese, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Tonawanda's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Kennedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

Coming up, Tonawanda will square off against Alden at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kennedy, they will face off against East Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
