Baseball Game Preview: Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves vs. Fairview Warriors

The Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves are taking a road trip to face off against the Fairview Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cuyahoga Heights' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Lincoln West. The result was nothing new for the Red Wolves, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Fairview earned a 7-4 win over Cuyahoga Heights on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Dylan Sather made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Fairview got a big performance out of Cal Reis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5. Reis also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ben Shomon, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Fairview back to even at 2-2. As for Cuyahoga Heights, their record now sits at 5-2.
