Volleyball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss on Tuesday.

Lakeside started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 16-25, 27-25, 25-18.

Jaycee Remus paced Lakeside's offense, picking up eight kills. Remus really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 11. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they pushed their record up to 23-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Lakeside nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
