Baseball Recap: Eastlake Extends Winning Streak to Three

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Eastlake nor Mount Si made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Wolves came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 4-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won three contests in a row.

Eastlake got a great performance from Rodrigo Montano as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Eastlake's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Wood, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Wood has posted since back in April of 2024.

Eastlake pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Si, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Eastlake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Skyline on the 18th. As for Mount Si, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Issaquah on the 17th.
