Basketball Recap: Rose Hill Rockets vs. West Elk Patriots
Rose Hill gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the West Elk Patriots 84-15. With the Rockets ahead 55-5 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Aidan Haugh was a one-man wrecking crew as he dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Zander Ford was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 10 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.
West Elk's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
Rose Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-51 win against Halstead on the 5th. As for West Elk, they will take on Humboldt on Tuesday.
