El Camino suffers tenth straight loss at home

Recap: El Camino Eagles vs. Sacramento Dragons

The El Camino Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Sacramento 78-47. El Camino was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

Loss or not, El Camino got some senior leadership from Justin Watts and Demetrious Perry. Watts scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Perry. scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Bennett, who scored five points.

El Camino struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sacramento racked up 25 assists.

Sacramento was led to victory by Kendahl Hearne and Sir Marius Jones. Hearne dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists, while Jones scored 40 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Damarion Taylor, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.

El Camino dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Sacramento, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Camino will take on Del Campo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sacramento, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. Christian Brothers will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Sacramento is ranked 79th).
