            Softball Recap: San Gabriel Matadors vs. Schurr Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            San Gabriel extended their losing streak  to ten  on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-15 in the process. They lost  24-0 to the Schurr Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  14-0  back in April.
As for Schurr, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-5-1. 24 seems to be a good number for they as the  team scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
For Schurr's part,  Amanda Gonzalez and  Sophia De Santiago made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound,  Gonzalez   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  De Santiago   struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Gonzalez has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat,  Gonzalez  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI, while  De Santiago  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Schurr got a  massive  performance out of  Samantha Maldonado, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  triple. That's the most  hits  Maldonado has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kayla Rodriguez, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  double.
As of now, neither San Gabriel nor Schurr have any future games scheduled.
