Soccer Game Preview: Gervais vs. Taft

Gervais is 1-8-1 against Taft since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Gervais is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Amity on Thursday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Gervais can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Amity are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Taft's offense. They lost 8-0 to Western Christian on Thursday. Taft haven't had much luck with Western Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Gervais' loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
